Charles Berry Bascule Bridge Closing
URGENT UPDATE
The City of Lorain has been informed by ODOT that it has determined that it would be best for the bridge to remain closed until further notice. The bridge is still undergoing major repairs. For information on the progress of this contruction project visit ODOT
The Charles Berry Bascule Bridge is being rehabilitated at a cost of $1.7 million dollars. This rehabilitation will require single lane traffic and closing at times.
Lane closures are at the discretion of the contractor but will only take place between the hours of 9a.m and 3p.m. to avoid heavy rush hour traffic.
Due to the nature of the work, mostly mechanical and electrical, the bridge will have to be in the raised position which will require the bgidge to be completly closed to traffic when this work is being done.
